Hippodrome :
The former center
of sprotive and political activities of Constantinople. During the visit
you will be able to see the Obelisk from Egypt, Serpentine Column from
Delphi and fountain of Willhelm II.
Grand Bazaar :
In addition to its
historical importance, it's a bazaar that will tempt even the
nonshoppers with its rich collection of precious handmade carpets,
jewellery, leather and souvenirs.
Blue Mosque :
One of the biggest
mosques of Istanbul from 17th century architecture is one of the
principal adornments on the skyline of Istanbul. Also famous for its
blue tiles and 6 minarest.
Haghia-Sophia :
The magnificent
Byzantine Church of all times; one of the finest and largest
architectural works of art in the world. It has been nominated to be the
8th wonder of the world by many historians.
Tokapi Palace
Topkapi Palace was
home to all the Ottoman sultans until the reign of Abdulmecid I
(1839-1860), a period of nearly four centuries. The order for the
construction of the Topkapi Palace on the Seraglio Point overlooking
both Marmara and Bosphorus was given by Mehmed II after the conquest of
Constantinapolis in 1453. The place was then an ancient olive grove. The
final form of the first palace covered an area 700m², and was enclosed
with fortified walls 1400 meters in length.
suleymaniye Mosque
The construction of
Suleymaniye began in 1995 and was finally opened to the public in
October 1999. With a total floor space of 8000 square meters, the total
capacity of its Ottoman style mosque is 3000 people. With its unique
exterior design Suleymaniye boost to be the largest Islamic complex in
Eurpope. The architecture of Suleymaniye is a compound of Eastern and
western architecture with a uniqueness in its exterior design. The
mosque which is decorated in a typical Turkish calligraphy is one part
of the whole complex, other parts include a conference and wedding hall,
Guest rooms, class rooms, and funeral service facilities as well as
accomodation for the staff.
